Eddy No.1 – Pause, Breathe

Eddy – the space forming downstream from, or “behind” an obstruction such as a rock, group of boulders, partially submersed detritus such as fallen tree limbs, or shape of land, either natural or man-made.

Eddy – an area of swirling water that forms behind an obstacle….a slower quieter movement than rivers main flow.

Eddy – A diverging circular current of water, air, imagination created by the main ‘streams’ flow past an obstruction.

Eddy – a place for fish to wait in hunt for insects drawn into by eddy’s touch.

Eddy – a place where stuff collects; fallen leaves, soil, insects, plastic bags, containers, styrofoam, toxicity.

Eddy – a resting place for salmon returning from the ocean to pause, rest before heading again upstream to spawn, begin the next generation. Or fry to rest before heading to sea.

Eddy – a place in the ocean whose movement allows nutrients that are normally found in colder, deeper waters to come to the surface.

Eddy – an opportunity for a river paddler to pause and rest, and ‘read the river’ before adventuring on into the flow.

Eddy Turn – a walk or sit in the forest, along a beach or river edge aside from the busy flow of a modern life.

Eddy Turn – unplugged from the Internets binary flow.

Eddy Turn – taking one’s seat on a yoga mat, or meditation cushion to slow, restore, listen and seek to more clearly see what is present, or a next step.
